A Solicitor is responsible for providing legal advice and support to clients. Clients range from individuals, groups, private companies or public sector organisations.
You will usually need a degree to become a Solicitor. Depending on what type of degree it is, you will then take a particular route towards becoming a Solicitor.
Solicitors are required to complete a recognised period of training and acquire the required qualifications in a minimum of three areas of law.
Solicitors are governed by a professional body. In England and Wales, this is the Law Society of England and Wales and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
