About the business:

Our firm, a leading regional law firms with offices across Yorkshire, are hiring for an additional professional in their growing employment law department. Due to new business wins, effective account management and ongoing expansion, this role has become available for an experienced employment law professional, based out of their Leeds Office.

If successful, you will perform the following role as an Employment Solicitor:

• Client Consultation and Case Management:

  • Conduct initial consultations with clients to assess their employment law needs and provide legal advice.
  • Manage a caseload of employment law matters, including drafting legal documents, preparing for hearings, and representing clients in court or tribunal proceedings.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to develop effective case strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and records.

• Legal Advisory and Documentation:

  • Advise clients on a wide range of employment law matters, including employment contracts, policies, and procedures, disciplinary actions, grievances, and performance management.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate employment contracts, settlement agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Provide guidance on statutory rights, employment legislation, and regulations.
  • Assist clients in ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.

• Employment Dispute Resolution:

  • Represent clients in employment-related disputes, including unfair dismissals, discrimination claims, whistleblowing cases, and redundancy situations.
  • Prepare and present cases before employment tribunals and courts, ensuring a strong legal argument and effective representation.
  • Negotiate settlements and mediate disputes, aiming to achieve favourable outcomes for clients.
  • Stay updated with relevant case law, legislation, and legal developments in employment law.

• Client Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with clients, providing regular updates on case progress and maintaining open lines of communication.
  • Offer strategic advice to clients, taking into account their unique circumstances and business objectives.
  • Provide exceptional client service, demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and confidentiality.

To apply, you will be required to meet the following criteria:

• Qualified solicitor with a valid practicing certificate issued by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).
• Proven experience as an Employment Solicitor, preferably with a minimum of 1-5 years of post-qualification experience in employment law.
• Sound knowledge of UK employment legislation, case law, and regulations.
• Strong advocacy, negotiation, and legal research skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle a diverse caseload and work under pressure, managing priorities effectively.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Client-focused approach with exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and committed to professional development.
