In-House Regulatory Lawyer Buckinghamshire Up to £55,000 DOE
Pleased to be working with a world-renowned, regulatory body based in Buckinghamshire, to find a Regulatory Lawyer (Qual or Non-Qual) to join their legal team. You’ll be joining a well-established team who advise, support, and monitor the work of various PSD committees to ensure successful discharge of their duties.
Based in modern offices in the Milton Keynes area, the successful Regulatory Lawyer will be surrounded by a vibrant team of regulatory professionals, who share invaluable experience and are fully committed in ensuring their work is completed to the highest standard. Duties and responsibilities of the Regulatory Lawyer:
Assist the Head of Committees and Tribunals in ensuring that the Investigation, Audit Registration, Practice Assurance, Insolvency Licensing, Investment Business, Probate, Disciplinary, Fitness, Appeal and Review Committees are properly instructed and supported.
Ensure quality and consistency of committee decisions by providing robust advice and guidance to committees in regard to its regulations.
Take ownership of, and attend meetings of the regulatory committees, as directed by the Head of Committees, and to act as Secretary during those meetings.
Perform "gatekeeper" quality control at INV 15 / draft IC report stage for disciplinary cases to ensure that they are fit to be listed on an Investigation Committee agenda
To assist the Head of Committees and/or Senior Lawyer in reviewing the member and quorum needs for Committees and to assist the running of all recruitment processes to ensure this is maintained as appropriate.
Minimum 3 years PQE (if NQ - 4 years PQE must have previous experience working for a regulatory body prior to legal qualification)
Knowledge of quality assurance processes and performance indicators
Experience of working for a regulator in the fitness to practise sphere or for another body in the professional discipline arena (for example ACCA, CIMA, NMC, HCPC etc) ideally as a lawyer, however, other roles (where relevant) will be considered
