Real Estate Associate - Residential Development (1+ PQE) | Top National Firm | Leicester/Hybrid

BCL Legal is pleased to be working on an exciting new opportunity with a leading national law firm seeking to recruit a Residential Development Associate into its high-performing team based in Leicester. This position is ideal for a solicitor with 1-3 years' PQE or a newly qualified lawyer with strong paralegal experience in residential development, looking to progress their career in a dynamic and supportive environment.

The Role
This is a great opportunity to be part of a well-established and growing Residential Development team. The successful candidate will act for a range of national and regional housebuilders and developers. The team offers high-quality work, a collaborative culture, and a strong commitment to career development.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Assisting with a variety of residential development transactions, from straightforward site acquisitions to complex strategic land deals
· Running your own matters, including smaller development acquisitions and disposals
· Drafting and negotiating option agreements, promotion agreements, overage agreements, and related documentation
· Conducting title reviews and managing due diligence
· Providing pragmatic, commercially focused advice to clients
· Contributing to business development and building strong client relationships
· Working from the Leicester office 2-3 days per week, with flexibility supported

About You
The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor with 1-3 years of post-qualification experience, or a newly qualified lawyer with substantial residential development experience gained pre-qualification. You'll be enthusiastic about working in this specialist field and keen to develop your skills further.
You should have:
· A minimum of one year's PQE, or demonstrable experience in residential development prior to qualification
· A background in real estate transactions, ideally acting for developer clients
· Strong drafting skills and commercial acumen
· Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a team-oriented approach
· A genuine interest in client development and relationship-building
