Location: Derby
Salary: £25,000 - £27,000 per annum
Full-time | Monday to Friday

We are working with a well-established law firm in Derby who are looking to recruit a Legal Assistant / Career Paralegal to provide dedicated support to one of their Family Law Associates.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Legal Assistant or Paralegal who is looking to build a long-term career within a support role, rather than follow the SQE or trainee solicitor route. The successful candidate will become an integral part of the team, acting as the Associate's trusted number two and providing high-quality legal and administrative support.

You will work closely with the Associate, assisting with a varied Family Law caseload and ensuring the smooth running of matters from start to finish. Responsibilities will include:

• Providing dedicated day-to-day support to the Family Law Associate
• Assisting with case management and progression of client matters
• Preparing legal documents, correspondence and court paperwork
• Managing client communications and providing excellent client care
• Conducting legal research and supporting case preparation
• Liaising with clients, counsel, courts and other third parties
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring deadlines are met
• Providing general administrative and organisational support to the Associate

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal, ideally within Family Law
• Enjoys being a key support person within a legal team
• Is looking for a stable, long-term career as a Paralegal rather than progressing towards qualification
• Has excellent organisation skills and attention to detail
• Can manage competing priorities and work independently
• Has strong written and verbal communication skills
• Takes pride in delivering excellent support to both lawyers and clients

This is an excellent opportunity for a Career Paralegal who wants to become a valued and trusted member of a Family Law team. You will work closely with an experienced Associate, gain exposure to a varied caseload, and play a key role in delivering an excellent service to clients.
Salary: £25,000 - £27,000 depending on experience
Location: Derby
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
