An exciting opportunity for an ambitious Litigation & Arbitration Associate

A leading international law firm is seeking an NQ-2 PQE Litigation & Arbitration Associate to join its highly regarded and growing disputes practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified or junior disputes lawyer to join a high-performing, collaborative team handling complex, high-value and often international litigation and arbitration matters for major national and global clients.

You will work alongside leading specialists and Partners with firmwide responsibilities, gaining exposure to some of the firm's most significant disputes while developing your own areas of expertise.

The opportunity

The Litigation & Arbitration team advises a broad client base, including financial institutions, major industrial businesses, aerospace and defence organisations, automotive companies, technology businesses, utilities clients, states and state-owned entities.

The work is varied and commercially focused, providing excellent exposure to complex disputes across multiple sectors. Matters may include: Class actions and group litigation, Supply chain disputes, Outsourcing disputes, Technology and IT disputes, Cryptocurrency and digital asset disputes, Product liability matters, Commercial and contractual disputes, Complex and international litigation and arbitration.

As an Associate, you will have the opportunity to contribute to some of the firm's largest and most high-profile cases, while also taking ownership of smaller standalone matters. You will work closely with Partners and senior lawyers and become an integral part of larger, multidisciplinary dispute teams.

There will also be opportunities to develop your client relationships, commercial awareness and business development skills, giving you a strong platform for long-term career progression.

Key responsibilities

You will:
- Advise national and international clients on a broad range of complex disputes.
- Assist with high-value litigation and arbitration matters from initial strategy through to resolution.
- Take responsibility for elements of major disputes and manage smaller matters with increasing autonomy.
- Work directly with Partners, senior lawyers and wider teams on complex contentious matters.
- Develop strong and trusted relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to case strategy, legal research, drafting and preparation for hearings and other dispute resolution processes.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across different practice areas and jurisdictions.
- Contribute to business development and client relationship initiatives.
- Build expertise in specialist areas of litigation and arbitration as your career develops.

About you

We are keen to hear from NQ Solicitors and Litigation & Arbitration lawyers with up to around 2 years' PQE who are looking to develop their careers within a sophisticated disputes practice.

You are likely to have:
- Strong academics and high-quality legal training.
- An interest in, and ideally training experience in, litigation and arbitration.
- Exposure to a range of contentious matters.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- An interest in developing your business development and client relationship skills.
- International or cross-border disputes experience would be advantageous, although is not essential.

Most importantly, you will be an ambitious lawyer who enjoys intellectually challenging work and is keen to build a broad disputes practice before potentially developing a specialist area of expertise.
