Catastrophic Injury Solicitor - The catastrophic injury team of this 'top tier' firm is looking to strengthen its offering. Working with two experienced Partners, you will enjoy a vast range of high value, complex EL/PL and RTA work for a variety of top insurer clients as well as corporates. Lawyers advise on everything from injuries involving spinal and head injuries as well as amputations and fatalities to chronic pain including fibromyalgia. The team also advises on other specialist areas.

• Previous Experience: The hiring managers will consider NQs up to roughly 5 PQE (NB PQE is only given as a rough guide). Candidates should be able to demonstrate strong academics. Proven experience of litigated EL/PL or RTA - either catastrophic injury / large loss or complex fast track or multi-track will also be considered as will both defendant and claimant experience. The team is looking for talented litigators who are looking to develop their experience with an award-winning team.

Role requirements

The successful candidate will work closely with all members of the team predominantly acting for insurance companies and self-insured clients. In particular, duties may include:

• Assisting Partners on their own high-value cases as well as developing and handling a varied caseload.
• Carrying out investigations as well as drafting witness statements and assessing and reviewing medical records.
• Working closely with clients and drafting advise and advising on strategy depending on level of PQE
• Dealing with interlocutory proceedings, CCMCs and client meetings depending on level of PQE
• Adhering to clients Service Level Agreements and MI requirements
• Taking an active involvement in BD, whether by supporting Partners in growing new business or maintaining relationships with clients and conducting seminars or other client-related events.

Impressive range of challenging complex injury matters

Whilst the team advises all the top insurers, they also advise an equally impressive range of corporates on claims involving significant loss as well as complex and sensitive injury claims. In particular, the team has developed specialist expertise in the retail, leisure, construction and manufacturing sectors. One of the Partners also advises major travel and tour operators on a huge breadth of complex work.

The successful candidate will therefore benefit from a rich mix of challenging technical work. Depending on your level of experience, the intention is to encourage you to handle and lead on your own cases as soon as possible. You will also be encouraged to develop relationships with key in-house counterparts. Furthermore, you will work closely with the Partners, assisting them with their own complex cases.
