Position Summary

Provide senior level support and leadership for all aspects of the management and administration of the Firm’s defined contribution and defined benefit plans; responsible for the overall management and administration of the Firm’s domestic health and welfare programs; provide significant mentoring and leadership to the domestic Benefits team.

Duties and Accountabilities1

* Provide guidance, mentoring and thought leadership to the Global Benefits pension team in the management and daily administration of the Firm’s qualified defined contribution and defined benefit pension plans; oversee partners frozen unfunded pension plan.
* Ensure that all aspects of pension management and daily administration are carried out in an efficient and compliant manner, including but not limited to the timely preparation, filing and submission of premiums to the PBGC, DOL Forms 5500, mandated IRS filings, preparation of annual ERISA audits, creation and production of the plans financials, associated annual footnotes to the Firm’s financials, timely submission of all contributions to the various pension trusts, pension calculations and settlements, and plan documents compliance.
* To support the Partner Resources Benefits manager with partner onboarding through departure, and all changes and activities in between and after transition out of the Partnership. To oversee the benefits communications with partners, both ad-hoc communications and annual communications such as open enrollment as well as implementation/transition of new benefits and benefits systems.
* Attend all Investment Committee meetings, provide appropriate thoughtful input with respect to the various pension investments; carry out all Committee directives in an efficient, compliant manner and coordinate such activities with the Firm’s Treasurer, when necessary.
* Provide guidance, mentoring and thought leadership to the Global Benefits domestic health and welfare team in the management and administration of the Firm’s H&W programs, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, FSAs, short-term and long-term disability plans, group term life insurance, retiree healthcare and, ancillary voluntary benefit plans, such as supplemental life, long term care, legal services, backup child and eldercare, AFLAC and home-auto insurance; ensure regulatory compliance through submission of annual Forms 5500; oversee timely submission of various government rebates such as those associated with the retiree drug subsidy and the early retiree reinsurance program (ERRP).
* Provide direct support and strategic input to the US Benefits Associate Director in the implementation of newly approved programs, plan design changes, annual health and welfare renewals; conduct research on relevant topics of interest such as healthcare reform, healthcare trends in our industry as well as the general marketplace.
* Work with outside ERISA counsel and outside consultants to develop and implement all required plan design, operational procedures and plan document changes to comply with each stage of healthcare reform. Ensure all required NDAs, contracts, renewals and letter agreements are completed in a timely and correct manner.
* Manage and oversee annual Open Enrollment process for the Firm’s domestic healthcare plans, including but not limited to all active employee, partner, retiree and COBRA communications relating to benefit cost, plan design changes and enrollment periods; ensure all updates are facilitated on the Firm’s outsourced benefits administration system, updated in the Firm’s HRIS system and changes ultimately reported to payroll in a timely manner.
* Establish and maintain strong relationships with outside ERISA counsel, pension and health and welfare vendors, trustees, insurers, various plan actuaries and external consultants.
* Manage various benefits complaints and issues from partners and staff that may arise from time-to-time; ensure quick, equitable and courteous resolution in a high-touch, high-service environment.
* To partner with the Global Wellbeing Senior Manager on US wellbeing initiatives

A minimum of 10 years solid benefits management experience with defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans and health and welfare plans; keen knowledge of all federal and state legislation governed by the various regulatory agencies.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Ability to handle numerous projects, people and priorities simultaneously.

Education Qualifications:

*
Bachelor’s degree plus CEBS or relevant Masters degree required.

* This role is based in New York or Tampa.
* This role reports to the US Benefits Associate Director and will work closely with the US Pensions Manager, Senior Wellbeing Manager and Global Partner Benefits Manager
* Reporting Responsibilities: Three Benefits Specialists based in Tampa
