The successful candidate will join DLA Piper filling a role of a “Trainee Assistant Accountant” and will join our Central Management Information team sitting within the internationally well-established Accounting Control and Compliance function.

This is a great opportunity for a finance/accounting student to gain valuable experience from a global professional services environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about data, finance, reporting, encompassed with excellent attention to detail and proactive manner.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting

* Be responsible for the month production of the firm’s lock up summaries and Management reporting packs distributed to the Management of the firm
* Support a triage process which aims to monitor and respond to the businesses finance information needs – Learning to assess a wide range of requests from across the business, and liaise with them to ensure good service delivery at all times
* Be part of a team who periodically produce reports to meet business demands
Treasury Management & Accounting

* Be accountable for processing bank transfers, including the posting of transactions into the finance system
* Producing and delivering a daily report on liquidity to the wider business
* Be responsible for the completion of a specified list of Monthly Bank reconciliations
* Post month end journals as an when required, including posting year end journals throughout the year as part of a “Back posting” process
* Support the production of interest calculations on inter-company balances, and be responsible for the subsequent accounting entries

ABOUT YOU

* Possess the drive to use own initiative to delve into a task to learn and understand it fully
* High level of MS Excel literacy, including hands on experience of using the tool previously
* Exposure to using software and a desire to learn new skills – specifically using SAP BI reporting suites to write new reports will be a key part of this role
* Able to working with challenging customers and build trust and rapport with our internal customers
* Able to handle multiple priorities, working to sometimes conflicting timescales in a fast-paced and challenging environment
