A highly regarded local authority in London is seeking a specialist Procurement Lawyer to assist them with a major project on a locum basis for a minimum of 6 months.

The hours for this role can be flexible, so they are open to full-time and part-time applicants, and remote working is available. This is an urgent requirement so applicants will ideally be able to start immediately or within a few weeks at most.

About the Role:

This is a strategic role and the successful Procurement Lawyer will be working closely with the council's Senior Governance Lawyer on a large, major project. You will be advising on a number of contracts and providing your input from a procurement perspective. The role involves helping Executive Directors draft decision notices and cabinet member reports for approval. There are great resources and templates available to facilitate your role as Procurement Lawyer, and you will be well supported by the Senior Governance Lawyer and the Principal Contracts Lawyer.

Requirements:

• Substantial experience in procurement law (applicants from all sectors are welcome)
• Must be up to speed on the Procurement Act 2023 coming into effect this October
• Must be a qualified Lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister, CILEx)
