Do you have a passion for pensions law and would like to join our friendly and collegiate pensions team, developing your career in this area and learning from the best? We are looking to recruit a Solicitor/Associate for the Pensions team in either Aberdeen, Edinburgh, or Glasgow. We are also open to applications UK wide. Our Pensions team is known for being friendly and collegiate, and working across all three of our offices. We have an excellent reputation, both locally and nationally, for the high-quality service and advice we provide to trustee, employer, local authority and pension provider clients. The successful candidate will work alongside Sarah Phillips and Margaret Meehan, partners in our Edinburgh and Glasgow offices. Candidates should have experience in corporate transactional support work, and general pensions law experience, reflecting their level of qualification. Experience of advising on DC schemes and master trusts, and on contentious pensions matters, would be an advantage, but is not essential. English and Scots law qualified lawyers are encouraged to apply. The role will involve assisting more senior members of the team. You must have a passion for pensions law, be pragmatic and results-focused, and be able to work under pressure and to tight timescales as a key member of our team. We are looking for candidates with a positive attitude, willingness to learn, excellent written and oral communication skills, and who are determined to provide a first-class service to clients. The desire to work in a close-knit team and a strong work ethic are also essential. At the heart of Burness Paull is our independence. It’s this that gives us the licence to shape our business and culture in the sustainable way we want to, supporting the needs of our people, our clients, our wider community and the environment. It means freedom to pursue a philosophy of always being human in attitude and high-performing in approach. For our people that means recognising everyone is different and valuing those differences. A culture that celebrates openness and where genuine advice and relationships are championed. An environment that encourages everyone to aim for success by being the best version of themselves. And because we value the contribution that every one of our team makes, we make sure everyone is rewarded over and above the usual benefits you'd expect from a leading law firm. That means bonus schemes for all employees, family friendly policies that are stand out in the market, and a range of health & wellbeing initiatives that take a holistic approach to supporting colleagues. We set the bar high. Our clients and people love that. Click here to get an insight into our fantastic Pensions team. Download the job profile for full information regarding this role.
