JOB TITLE: Solicitor / Senior Solicitor (0-5 years PQE) - Real Estate / Commercial Property
Based in Edinburgh REPORTING TO: Colin Morrison, Partner JOB PURPOSE: We have an opportunity for a Solicitor to join the real estate department working as part of a team that focuses on
major international retailers, household-name hotel and leisure operators, commercial investors and developers,
as well as funders.
This is a fast paced role within a large team and the successful candidate will have exposure to clients on a
regular basis.
The wider real estate practice at Brodies is top ranked by the independent legal directories Chambers & Partners
and The Legal 500, and is regarded by market commentators as the leading practice in the Scottish market in
recent years. CORE TASKS:
• Noting title and report drafting for clients
• Analysing and reporting on investment leases
• Drafting, negotiating and implementing acquisition/sale missives for a variety of transaction types.
• Assisting with negotiation and implementation of development/project agreements
• General property management for various types of client/properties for various portfolios
• Be aware of Brodies’ information security policies, and protect information assets from unauthorised
access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference at all times PERSON SPECIFICATION:
• Previous experience of working in commercial property is essential
• Can demonstrate an active interest and enthusiasm for the property industry
• Take personal responsibility to learn on the job and keep knowledge up to date
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong written and oral communication skills

• Adapts style of communication appropriately when dealing with colleagues and clients
• Takes responsibility for their own transactions and advice, subject to supervision
