JOB TITLE Solicitor (NQ - 2 years PQE) - Real Estate / Commercial Property

Based in Edinburgh REPORTING TO Colin Morrison, Partner JOB PURPOSE We have an opportunity for a Solicitor to join the real estate department working as part of a team
that focuses on major international retailers, household-name hotel and leisure operators,
commercial investors and developers, as well as funders.

This is a fast paced role within a large team and the successful candidate will have exposure to
clients on a regular basis.

practice in the Scottish market in recent years. CORE TASKS
• Noting title and report drafting for clients
• Analysing and reporting on investment leases
• Drafting, negotiating and implementing acquisition/sale missives for a variety of transaction

• Assisting with negotiation and implementation of development/project agreements
• General property management for various types of client/properties for various portfolios
• Be aware of Brodies’ information security policies, and protect information assets from
unauthorised access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference at all times PERSON SPECIFICATION
• Completion of a trainee seat within commercial property is desirable
• Can demonstrate an active interest and enthusiasm for the property industry
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Communicates in a confident, clear and relaxed way
• Takes responsibility for their own transactions and advice, subject to supervision
• Ability to deal with competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Works to understand the department’s key clients, the industry they operate in and the
challenges they face
• Participates in business development activities of the unit, department and firm
