The role

We're seeking to recruit a motivated and ambitious Solicitor (at least 1 years PQE) to support the development of our Business Risk and Regulation (BRR) Team, which is based in our Bristol office. The BRR Team works in a range of regulatory areas including health & safety, environment, product safety, healthcare, and contentious data law. Working directly to the head of the Team, you will have expertise in at least one of these areas, and be keen to develop your knowledge further. You will be acting for well-known regional and national businesses including developers, construction companies, care homes, food producers and retailers, housing associations, investment companies and waste operators. This varied role provides a mix of contentious defence work, internal investigation and non-contentious advisory and transactional work, and is an ideal environment in which to expand your career in this specialist area of law.

By employing a model of intensive support for clients in the early stages of investigations, the team has established an exceptional track record of achieving positive outcomes for clients. We have exciting plans to grow the BRR Team in the next two years to establish all-encompassing regulatory support for our clients. Joining us, you will be a key part of that growth and as a result there will be excellent opportunities for career progression.

About You

A successful communicator with strong technical and problem-solving skills, you'll have the confidence and experience to assist company Directors and senior managers in the most difficult circumstances. You will have gained some technical ability in at least one relevant area of regulation, with the motivation to continue to develop complementary areas of expertise over time. You will be focussed and enthusiastic about developing your career within BRR over the long term, and in turn we will reward your dedication and commitment with progression opportunities and greater independence. Being self-motivated and ambitious, you already possess the drive to help continue to grow and develop our business, whilst enjoying the benefits of working within a supportive and proactive team.

Our relationship with our clients is paramount. You will need the ability to build strong and lasting relationships with clients, and show a genuine commitment to their business needs. Dedicated and enthusiastic, you will have the ability to work efficiently with a commitment to client care and business development.

About Us

We're proud of being a professional and collegiate firm, where we want our people to enjoy working together to achieve great results. As an ambitious and forward-thinking firm, you can expect to be provided with excellent training and development opportunities, in order to further your career in a stimulating and supportive environment. We're ambitious - for ourselves, and for our people - and want to support you to realise your full potential, whilst enjoying a positive work-life balance in a great location.

You'll also enjoy our range of flexible benefits, which include:

* Pension
* Life Assurance
* Private Health Insurance
* Private Medical Insurance
* Discretionary bonus scheme
* 25 days annual leave, all bank holidays plus your birthday off and an extra day at Christmas. Your holiday entitlement increases with length of service.
* Holiday Purchase Scheme
* Childcare Voucher Scheme
* Enhanced Maternity & Paternity Pay
* Free Legal Services to Staff: Including wills and conveyancing
* Medicash: Health care cash plan for employees

Covid-19

During these uncertain times, we have continued to work together to ensure that our people feel safe, supported and able to achieve our usual high standards of work, for each other and for our clients. With wellbeing being our priority, we have adapted our ways of working to ensure that new and existing colleagues get the support they need, when they need it. Interviews are taking place via Microsoft Teams and induction processes are being coordinated remotely at present, to enable people to begin working for us from home until such time as it is possible to return to the office. In the meantime, we have adapted our office environments to ensure they are 'Covid secure', if people do need to attend the office.

We will continue adjusting our approach as things change, so please do feel free to ask us about our response to the Covid-19 pandemic during our recruitment process, if you would like to know more.
