The role

We are recruting for a 3- 5 YR PQE Solicitor to join our EPI Team in Leeds.

To manage a mixed caseload of employment work and provide HR employment law advice to clients.

Main duties and responsibilities

* Manage a mixed caseload of employment work almost exclusively for employers

* Provide HR and employment law advice to a wide range of clients

* Assist other members of the team with their caseloads as appropriate

* Draft and prepare letters, e-mails, documents, tribunal responses, bundles, witness statements and reports

* Conduct advocacy in the Employment Tribunal from preliminary hearings to multi-day final hearings (subject to experience)

* Carry out legal research

* Draft articles and legal updates

* Assist with business development initiatives including training and networking

* Work in accordance with client and internal SLAs

* Work in accordance with Weightmans’ values and procedures

* Contribute towards the achievement of defined financial and chargeable hours team targets

* Comply with Data Protection compliance and procedures

The person specification

* 3 to 5 years PQE Solicitor

* Demonstrable experience acting for a range of employers across a range of sectors

* Advocacy experience preferable or willingness to undertake advocacy in the employment tribunal

* Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative

* Excellent communication skills

* Excellent organisational skills

* Methodical, organised approach

* Ability to work to strict deadlines and targets
