JOB TITLE: SENIOR OMBUDSMAN/LEGAL COUNSEL
The Ideal Candidate would be a qualified Solicitor/Barrister, who is experienced in a similar role, must have an understanding of Consumer, Contract Law and Compliance.
As a member of the CEO’s Senior Team, you are accountable for the efficient, consistent and accurate delivery of legal, ADR and training services to members and legal compliance reporting across the organisation.
As an established expert in consumer law, ADR and legal compliance you will report and manage risk, provide support to colleagues, our members and other stakeholders
Responsible for the delivery of the Ombudsman’s ADR and advisory services against a quality framework to report compliance, non-compliance and identify risk and close the loop by feedback to staff, management and HR
Responsible for accuracy and consistent delivery of the Ombudsman’s ADR service, making recommendations to improve and evolve where possible
Collation of any other instruments and reports required to help ensure that the CEO can assess quality
Legal and ADR projects as required from time to time
Maintain methods of ensuring that consumer law knowledge amongst relevant staff is optimum
To support the CEO and Board with evidence to support decision making with regards to general legal matters that include reporting tools to identify risk and compliance
Key areas include Consumer Law, Contract, Health & Safety, Fire Safety, Data Protection, Money Laundering, Financial Crime and systematic risk reporting including IT Infrastructure, Case Management System and maintenance of professional memberships and accreditations
Review and ensure that policies are up to date and version control is maintained
