Job Title: Senior Legacy Officer

Location: Burford, Oxfordshire

Salary: £30,074 - £40,000 per annum

They are looking for a highly organised, methodical and efficient person with high integrity and excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills with extensive technical case handling skills and ability to manage and motivate a team of Legacy Officers and to produce high quality work with a full range of project and administrative support to the Legacy Administration Team as well as deputising for the Head of Legacy Administration as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake the management of legacy cases including complex matters to protect this critical income stream
  • Be instrumental in the development of Legacy Officers giving technical advice and support, as required on estate administration using your enhanced knowledge and skills
  • In the absence of the Head of Legacy Administration you will deputise, lead and manage the whole team in an effective, considerate, open and honest way liaising with the Deputy Director of Fundraising Marketing and Communications, Chief Executive Office and our Board of Trustees, as appropriate.
  • Be instrumental in the support and development of the internal awareness of the importance of future legacies across the organisation
  • Develop relationships across the Blue Cross directorates

What's required?

  • 5 GCSE's or equivalent including Mathematics and English
  • ILM Certificate in Charity Legacy Administration
  • Demonstrable experience of working in charity legacy administration
  • Managing and motivating a team to produce high quality work
  • Experience of communicating effectively and sympathetically with both professional and lay executors and family members
  • Working effectively as part of a team to produce high quality results
  • Excellent organisational skills including the ability to prioritise, handle and delegate workloads effectively
  • Effective communication and liaison with all levels using first class inter-personal and communication skills
  • Effective use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook

It would also be great if you had:

  • Knowledge of, and ability to use, the "First Class" computerised legacy administration system
  • Charities SORP accounting
