Legal Secretary (Banking & Financial Services) - London

We are looking to recruit a Secretary into our Banking & Financial Services team in London on a full-time basis, whilst also supporting an Employment Partner.

What are we looking for?

For this role you will need experience of working in a fast-paced commercial law firm environment, have first class IT skills, an eye for detail, excellent organisation skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.

What do the team do?

The financial services team acts across all areas of non-contentious financial services. We advise on the retail distribution of financial services products and have particular expertise in the documentation, promotion and distribution of retail financial services products including consumer credit, insurance and regulated mortgages.

We also offer advice on legal and compliance issues arising under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, the PRA Rulebook, FCA Handbook, the Payment Services Regulations, the Consumer Credit Act, the Electronic Money Regulations and a range of European regulations. In addition we cover wholesale products and arrangements including investment management agreements, custody arrangements, funds, platforms and MiFID/MiFID II. Our clients include private and retail banks, global financial institutions, major insurers and some of the UK's largest providers of financial products. Our team also advises regulated and unregulated clients on compliance with financial crime prevention laws.

What will the role involve?

Typing, dictation and document work, as you would expect, alongside keeping on top of multiple diaries, organising meetings, travel and accommodation as necessary. There'll be some work around client billing, including preparation of bills and assisting with client reporting using excel spreadsheets. You will also have responsibility for file maintenance, both electronic and paper-based. You'll be working as part of a team of secretaries, so the ability work cohesively with other essential.
