We are looking for a Conveyancing Assistant, with at least two years’ demonstrable post-exchange and completion experience, to join our Residential Property team in Ipswich and assist in the delivery of residential property legal services to our clients. 

As part of this role, you can expect to get involved in the following:             

Exchange/Completion Tasks

  • Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) forms
  • Post exchange work – completion statements/bills etc.

  • Land Registry applications

  • Scheduling

  • Setting files up for completion – CHAPS etc.

  • Completion paperwork – redeeming mortgages, forwarding completion documentation, serving Notices (leasehold) etc.

  • Checking ledgers are clear prior to file closing

General Tasks

  • Take instructions or messages from clients and pass on to fee earner
  • Highlighting milestone dates on each matter on the matter management system

  • Ensure all letters and communication are completed accurately and on time

  • Maintain the filing system in an orderly manner to ensure correct conduct for client files

  • Open and close files correctly

  • Assist the team with the maintenance of each client file in a proper manner in accordance with the requirements of the Firm and Law Society

  • Follow up and liaise with clients and other parties such as Estate Agents for key information for file matter

  • Complete and follow up all documents in relation to accounts, cheque requisitions and banking for client matters

  • Prepare forms and paperwork necessary for client files
