About the Procurement and Commercial Solicitor role:

For this opening of a Procurement and Commercial Solicitor ideally you will have had previous local authority experience and looking to build on the next step of your career. This senior role will provide you with the opportunity to continue with your professional development within a large Commercial and Procurement team, leading on complex projects and procurements and contributing to the development of leading practices.

The successful Procurement and Commercial Solicitor will be responsible for the following duties:

• The provision of legal advice and legal services through all stages of the complex projects and procurement processes across the service.
• Providing leadership, support, and challenge to clients to safeguard the council's business plan.

• Draft and negotiate various types of contracts, ensuring due diligence.

• Supporting the delivery of local government change programmes.
• Ensuring compliance and contributing to the updating of the council's contract procedure rules.
