The team

The Procurement Function is a new department for Shoosmiths. We are on the journey of implementing the tools needed to be able to deliver value to the business. Alongside a suite of procurement tools, we have developed a supplier management database which will be at the core of the work we undertake.

The role

The main focus of the role is to support the Procurement Manager with the development of the supplier management database and other Procurement projects.

Main responsibilities

* Provide day to day support to the Procurement Manager

* Responsibility for maintaining the supplier management database

* Liaising with new and existing suppliers to gather information about their policies and procedures

* Any other Procurement related exercises

Skills and qualifications

* People skills, the ability to request information from senior stakeholders within the business

* Confidence to speak with suppliers via email or the telephone

* Administration skills to update data, maintain database and manage defined procurement processes

* Basic understanding of what Procurement is and a desire to develop their knowledge of the function

* Attention to detail

* MS Skills in Excel and Word
