The Practice Manager for the Company Commercial Practice Group (CCPG) will drive forward firm-wide and Practice Group projects and initiatives in order to maximise efficiencies and continuously improve services to internal and external clients
As Practice Manager you will have responsibility across a number of key operational areas including people, finance, leadership, strategy, communications and business efficiency.
o Work as a key member of the CCPG Leadership team ensuring efficient leadership meetings, co-ordinating input and actions, managing the teamwork of the functional (HR, Finance, Marketing etc) leads and leading the performance of the practice support
o Work closely with the other Practice Managers to ensure a joined up and consistent approach is taken on all matters across the Practice Groups.
o Address and manage performance of the support team and other issues within the Office Manager and Secretarial Team Leader group.
o Coordinate reviews for all support staff within the Practice Group
o Coordinate salary reviews for all support staff within the Practice Group, in consultation with HR Business Manager, Product Group Heads, Office Managers etc as appropriate
o Coach and support Office Manager and Secretarial Team Leaders with more complicated people and performance issues. Consult with HR where necessary.
o Travel to each UK office at least twice a year, building a profile/relationship with partners and team leaders across the practice group.
o Manage and review issues such as time recording, purged time, missing time reports to ensure that all issues are minimal and dealt with promptly ensuring financial efficiency.
o Maintain control of travel, staff welfare and hospitality budgets across the practice group and deal with any issues accordingly
o Proactively help manage CCPG UK dormant balances.
o Act as chief of staff/secretary to the leadership team
o Organise meeting agendas in advance and follow-up with action lists
o Attend all leadership team meetings
o Maintain action list of key strategic actions to progress the practice group
o necessary support and follow up to team members to ensure progress.
o Engage with and assist in delivery of the CCPG firmwide strategy
o Coordinate the settlement and progression of the US integration plans
o Coordinate, settle and facilitate progression of the product group strategic plans
o Assist with the implementation of the CCPG wide strategy.
o Act as key coordinator of all leadership communications within the group
o Assist in arranging away days and any involvements in AGMs/PG conferences.
o Develop best practice
o Facilitate the timely preparation and delivery of quarterly product group head reports and quarterly managing partner reports
o Look to lead efficiency drive by contributing ideas and progressing agreed action plans including use of emails, budgeting for hospitality & travel and exploring, settling and delivering the 'completing the job' project
Skills and experience:
o Strong people leadership and management;
