The Team

The Technology, Outsourcing and Privacy team acts for public and private sector customers and suppliers, clients range from start-ups through to government departments and multi-nationals. They advise on a wide range of technology, privacy and data security related issues. This role will support a partner who is based in our Silicon Valley office.

Responsibilities

The Practice Administrator provides administrative and clerical support to the firm by assisting and supporting the fee earners and Legal PAs with tasks included in, but not limited, to the list below. This is a key role in the Department that supports all Partners, fee earners and secretaries under the supervision of the Department Lead Secretary as follows:

* Audio and copy typing including amending documents, letters and emails, having the initiative to ensure that information is correct and checking, where appropriate, ensuring house style is adhered to and work is professionally presented, with no spelling or grammatical errors.

* Processing expenses, invoices and payments received, ensuring that the correct charge codes are used and follow up action taken where appropriate.

* Upkeep and maintenance of the department's Interaction database including inputting business cards/data as appropriate Winscribe dictation

* Providing marketing support.

* Filing and e-copies

* Research

* Processing expenses and disbursements.

* Time recording

* Complex Travel Arrangements

* Updating Interaction

* Client and matter inception

* Billing

* Cheques and Invoices

* AML

* Engagement Letters

Key Skills & Experience

* The ideal candidate will have relevant experience gained in a similar role within a professional services/law firm.

* Will have good IT skills and be able to use Word and Outlook - Powerpoint and Excel would be helpful but not absolutely necessary.

* Good communication skills with the ability to liaise and work well with Partners, Associates, Fee earners, Business Support staff and other secretaries.

* Typing speed at least 45-50 wpm, but will be expected to develop to a higher speed.

* GCSE Maths and English essential for the role, with good grades
