Planning & Environment (Consenting) Senior Associate 6+ PQE - Leeds
An exciting opportunity has arisen at a global top 100 law firm, looking for a Senior Associate to join their market-leading Planning & Environment team based in Leeds. This role will suit an ambitious lawyer, with at least 6 years' PQE and extensive consenting experience.

The Opportunity:
This exciting opportunity sits with the Planning & Environment, Energy & Infrastructure team, one of the largest dedicated planning teams in the country. The Consenting specialists are involved in some of the most high profile projects spanning all forms of energy including offshore wind, large scale solar, carbon capture plans, nuclear, energy networks and pipelines. As well as infrastructure, including water infrastructure, new roads, airports, rail and rapid transit systems. As a part of this successful team, you will be given early responsibility and the opportunity to build relationships with key clients from the outset.
Joining this successful team, you will encounter a broad range of high quality work, acting for a array of high profile clients on large and nationally significant transactions. Whilst the successful candidate will sit within the UK national Property Group, they will have close links to our Energy and Infrastructure Sectors.
Candidate requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor with around 6 years' PQE or above
- Experience gained within a large regional or national practice
- Experience in all or any of the Planning Act 2008, the Transport and Works Act 1992, the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, compulsory acquisition/purchase and compensation matters, EIA/HRA, inquiries/examinations and judicial review
- Consenting experience is also essential for this role
- Enthusiastic about business development
- A strong academic background
- Outgoing and approachable
- Strong commercial acumen
