Personal Injury Solicitor Manchester - This is an exciting and varied role supporting two key Partners on a range of litigated Casualty EL/PL work. The role covers a number of facets from developing experience advising key clients including drafting legal documents and client advice to business development and assisting in acquiring new business. You will be a fully valued member of a dynamic team and develop a truly holistic appreciation of being a litigator at a 'top tier' law firm.

• Expertise: Strong academic background and ideally proven EL/PL experience from either claimant or defendant background.

Snapshot of your day

You will be involved in all aspects of fee earning and non-chargeable work from the start, including:

• Building up your own caseload of fast track and complex multi track EL/PL litigation working both autonomously and as part of a team
• Honing your drafting skills whether it be drafting court documents; instructions to counsel; client advices etc
• Handling interlocutory proceedings as well as attending CMCs and client meetings.
• Business development
• Supervising less experienced members of the team including Paralegals and Legal Assistants
• Assisting with marketing activity within the team and the broader practice area

Mix of fast track and multi track Casualty EL/PL

As an Associate within the team, you will work directly with more experienced lawyers (including two Partners) advising on a range of fast track and multi track EL/PL matters. Work comes from a range of clients across a number of sectors including manufacturing; retail and leisure; as well as the public sector and third sector.

Clients include everything from 'tier 1' insurers and FTSE 250 and FTSE 100 corporates to local government and well-known charities. Cases can vary from a fast track 'slip 'n' trip' to disputed liability arising from a serious factory accident. As a qualified solicitor or legal executive at the outset of your career, you will experience the full range of work to aid your development, including assisting the Partners on particularly high-value technical matters.

This is a continually growing team with multiple development opportunities. There are also opportunities to progress to areas such as catastrophic injury and large loss.
