Paralegal - Matter Support

Position

Full Time - Permanent

Role

Paralegal

Location

Bristol

Practice Area/Department

Insurance

Description

RPC is a modern, progressive and
commercially-oriented City legal services business. From our
offices in the UK, Hong Kong and Singapore we provide advice
to both UK and international clients.

What we do

Our practice spans a wide range of industry sectors
and is broadly split into two discrete areas: insurance and
corporates. Working on both contentious and non-contentious
matters, our clients range from large multinationals to growth UK
corporate firms and other professional practices, and include many
household names
.

Why we're different

We have a confident, accessible and enterprising
approach that sets performance, service and value at the top of the
agenda. Our goal is to do the usual things unusually well, make the
complex simple and help our clients build better, stronger businesses.
Our success is built on the level of service we give to
clients - delivering what they want, on time and in an easily
accessible manner.

How we work

We're friendly and approachable, yet we're not afraid
to give tough advice and few are more tenacious when it comes to
securing the results you need. We ask questions that get straight to
the point and listen because we're genuinely interested in our
clients and their businesses. We understand how our clients work,
the pressures they face, and the ambitions they have. And, of
course, we love our work.

Where we work

We act for a large number of international clients with
interests throughout the world. We have offices in both the UK and
Asia and, as a founder-member of TerraLex - one of the world's
largest legal networks - we have strong links with law firms in
over 100 jurisdictions allowing us to offer a seamless service to
our clients across the globe.

Role overview

As a paralegal in RPC's Bristol office, you will be
part of a central team providing process-based and ad-hoc matter
support to a range of legal teams alongside other paralegals,
apprentices and administrators. Once you have gained necessary
experience and skills, you will have the opportunity to work within
those legal teams on an occasional informal internal placement
basis. Subject to business need, these placements may be up to
around 10 months each, with direct associate supervision, giving you
a broad paralegal experience and helping to build relationships with
people across the whole office.

You will receive training alongside trainees,
apprentices and other pre-qualified staff and, while working in the
central team, you may have the opportunity to train and mentor apprentices.

You will have the opportunity to work with talented
lawyers and a wide range of clients in a fast-paced environment.
Over time, you will gain exposure to a range of work types,
primarily in our insurance practice. Paralegal support is integral
to our business and we are keen to provide an environment where you
can develop both your legal and business skills.

We can offer experience in a range of practice areas
with work coming from various legal teams (with an emphasis on
insurance work such as Professional and Financial Risks,
Construction, Employment and Property and Casualty). Added to this
there is the potential of a placement with one of the insurance
teams providing a great foundation for your legal career whatever
route you have chosen.
