About Leigh Day
We are a top 100 law firm committed to claimant-only cases, ensuring that individuals have the same access to justice as the UK Government and large corporations. We’re not afraid to take on difficult and challenging cases involving medical negligence, serious personal injuries, discrimination in the workplace, defective products and human rights abuses in this country and overseas.
About the team
Our UK Group Claims teams represent clients with claims for losses incurred due to misleading information to consumers, including against diesel car manufacturers and claims in connection with financial services products on behalf of retail investors.
The team are currently working on the high-profile cases taking action against automotive manufacturers on behalf of UK drivers over alleged emissions ‘cheat devices’; and also, on behalf of investors in Equity Funds, to claim damages for losses suffered as a result of breaches of the FCA’s rules.
About the role
We have an opportunity for a Paralegal to join the team to support our lawyers with our complex, multi-party action cases, focusing on the management and reporting of our client’s data on our financial services cases.
A current high profile group action being brought on behalf of investors is against the Woodford Equity Income Fund (WEIF), with clients alleging to have suffered loss and damage as a result of the fund’s poor management. The claim Leigh Day is bringing, as well as the events surrounding the collapse of the WEIF, has received a significant amount of press coverage. This is a high profile and exciting case to work on.
