Bindmans immigration team

The firm has an outstanding reputation in immigration law and is committed to maintaining excellence in this area.

Here for Good

Here for Good exists to provide free, vital protection and reassurance to EEA citizens and their families living in the UK, both throughout the process of the United Kingdom leaving the European Union and beyond.

Here for Good's first full-time lawyer, Carla Mirallas, is a European Registered Lawyer and is part of the Bindmans immigration team. She combines the knowledge and skill of Bindmans with the network and mission of Here for Good, ensuring the charity's clients receive the best possible support. As well as managing her own caseload, Carla oversees a UK-wide network of volunteer immigration lawyers that take on cases for the charity.

As the EU Settlement Scheme deadline draws nearer, Here for Good is finding itself increasingly busy. Its partners - ranging from major institutions such as the EU Delegation and UN Migration Agency to NGOs including the 3million and St Mungo's - see Here for Good as a leading authority on EU citizens' rights, resulting in a constant stream of complex case referrals.

Here for Good is recruiting a paralegal to assist Carla with the coordination of the volunteer network and provide casework support. The successful applicant will work 3 days per week to further the charity's objectives.

The successful candidate will be employed and supervised by Bindmans LLP.

Skills / Knowledge Requirements:

* At least 1 year’s legal experience
* Experience in immigration would be an advantage

You will also need to:

* be highly motivated, proactive, self-servicing, enthusiastic,
* have excellent communication, organisation and administrative skills,
* have a flexible and professional attitude,
* the ability to work on confidential matters and under pressure together with a keen eye for detail.

Equality & Diversity

Bindmans LLP is an equal opportunities employer, committed to increasing diversity in our firm and our wider profession. Applications from candidates who are BAME, have a disability or who are from a less privileged background are particularly encouraged.
