We are currently recruiting for a paralegal to join our child law team in York.

A role within our busy and fast-paced child law team offers the opportunity to be involved in providing support to fee earners with a varied caseload.

The key focus of this role will be the provision of timely, efficient and highly organised legal and administrative support to the fee earners within the team, with tasks including managing day to day emails and other correspondence, liaising with experts, clients and other professionals. The role will also include preparation of court bundles, basic fee earning work and sitting behind counsel at court.

This high volume activity is critical for the success of the team and as such the ability to manage a large volume of work, whilst maintaining efficiency and accuracy is fundamental for success in the role.

You will also be acting as the first point of contact for enquiries. Therefore, excellent client service skills are required along with the ability to put people at ease during sometimes emotional and challenging situations. Strong verbal and written communication skills are also key, as you will liaise on a daily basis with a varied range of stakeholders from private individuals and other professionals (such as guardians).

Previous administration experience is required (ideally within a legal setting) and the role may especially suit an experienced legal secretary or legal administrator seeking their next move.
