The residential development team has a national presence through our Birmingham, London and Leeds offices. We act for all of the top ten house builders and seventeen of the top twenty house builders, our team are specialists and have an enviable national reputation.
The work we carry out broadly comprises of three key elements; Land acquisition where we assist our house builder clients in buying the land that they would like to build new houses on; Plot Support work which includes ensuring that the newly built houses will have the necessary road access and water supplies; and the Plot Sales work where we assist with the sales of the newly built houses.
The Partners encourage a supportive team environment where supervision is always available and members can seek advice and further their knowledge from others. We also work closely with the Planning, Construction and Tax teams.
We have an exciting opportunity to recruit talented Paralegal Apprentices to join our Residential Development teams in Birmingham and Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity to gain some hands on legal experience alongside a team of highly regarded professionals, and to work with some large commercial clients.
We will provide full training and support for these positions, including allocating dedicated supervisors and mentors to the successful candidates.
The role will develop with training and experience but we expect the successful to be involved with assisting fee earners in some of the below aspects:
* Managing data and records
* Reviewing and preparing documents
* Collating completion papers
* Drafting forms and legal documentation
* Communicating orally and in writing with a variety of recipients
* Providing support to Plot Conveyancers and fee earners
Key Skills & Experience
Our successful candidates will need to have at least five GCSE’s graded A* - C and or equivalent and have achieve at least three A Levels at graded A* - C or equivalent, they will also be required to take the Land Law module during the first year of their apprenticeship. He/she will demonstrate the following attributes:
* strong communication skills both written and verbal
* the ability to work as part of a team
* a keen interest in property law
* ability and willingness to learn
* attention to detail
* strong organisational skills
* good IT skills
* discretion and professionalism
