As a charity, we look after the property needs of retired Methodist Ministers of limited means. MMHS has a nationwide portfolio of 930+ residential properties.
Three days a week (Mon to Wed), Baker Street permanent position
provide advice and assistance to the property department on a wide range of interesting property matters that arise from owning a portfolio of this size;
liaise with ministers, as needed, with regard to purchases, sales, transfers and creation and release of equity;
negotiate and instruct purchases on behalf of MMHS and deal with bequests of properties;
manage the equity sharing scheme which will include drafting, completing and registering deeds;
line manage the Housing Management Officer and Surveys and Property Officer who handle MMHS’s market rented portfolio, sales and surveys;
liaise with MMHS’s external professional advisers;
ensure all post-completion matters are handled correctly and MMHS’s records are kept up-to-date;
handle day-to-day administrative tasks and manage good filing systems.
ideally, a legal qualification such as a law degree or equivalent and LPC or CILEx;
experience of a wide range of conveyancing work;
fully IT literate and good knowledge of management systems;
able to think laterally and work independently;
a team player who is a skilled communicator, fun and hard working;
sympathetic to the Christian faith;
good knowledge of the not-for-profit sector, in paid or unpaid capacity;
an understanding of the needs of older people.
