The firm

Morrisons Solicitors LLP is a long established top 200 law firm with offices in Surrey, South West London and Hampshire. We are ranked in the UK Chambers & Partners Directory.

We have a long history and big ambitions. We combine the depth of knowledge, capabilities and resources of a large firm with the approachability of a local practice. Morrisons is a Lexcel accredited Law Firm and has been awarded a Silver Accreditation for Investors in People.

The practice of law is, at heart, all about people: business people, employers and employees, investors, home owners, private individuals, families, vulnerable adults – people. So, it’s no surprise that we place a very high priority on attracting and recruiting, developing, rewarding and retaining the right people – for our clients and our business.Morrisons is a community of high-calibre professionals – lawyers and support specialists – who are dedicated to delivering expert, commercially focused advice that helps clients to achieve their goals. We choose to do this is in an approachable, down-to-earth, practical way, offering solutions rather than lectures.

As part of our ongoing commitment to training and development we offer a Newly Qualified Development Programme. This applies to all newly qualified solicitors during their first three years of qualification and its purpose is to support and help you reach your full potential.

We encourage all our staff to reflect and commit to the firm’s core values; integrity, insight, and sense of community. Each member of our staff has an important role to play in achieving our goals as a firm, our offices have a community feel to them and we are committed to working together as a team to actively encourage other to excel.

We understand the importance of a healthy work life balance and are open to considering variable working arrangements to support our staff with their commitments outside of work – this includes applications from Job Share partners.

The department

Our Dispute Resolution team comprises qualified arbitrators and mediators – all experienced and robust negotiators – and we work with our clients to design the most appropriate strategy for their circumstances. We can also draw on the experience and knowledge of specialist teams, including colleagues from our employment, property, clinical negligence and personal injury teams, to ensure that whatever course our clients take we have the best possible chance of success.

Responsibilities

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented newly qualified Solicitor with experience in Dispute Resolution to join our busy team at the Wimbledon office.

The ideal candidate will be 0-1 year PQE, commercially minded and have the technical and communication skills required to provide the highest level of client service. You will have a degree qualification of a 2:1 or above.

You must have taken a litigation seat during your training contract, ideally at a well-regarded regional firm, and you will have had an excellent training.

Additional information

You will be organised, efficient, and be able to work well as part of a happy, hard-working team. We work collaboratively and you will be fully supported and mentored, but you must also have the ability to use your own initiative and to be proactive. You will have excellent IT skills and a willingness to work in all areas of the team’s practice, with the opportunity to specialise as your career develops.

Permanent, Monday – Friday, 35 hours per week

Equal opportunities

Morrisons Solicitors LLP are committed to promoting equal opportunities for all candidates irrespective of your age, sex, race, colour, religion, religious belief, national original marital status, sexual orientation, physical disability or mental disability, including persons who have aids or have tested HIV-positive or any other legally protected classification, except as may be permitted by law. The firm is committed to provide an environment in which the rights and dignity of all its employees are respected, and which is free from discrimination, prejudice, intimidation and all forms of harassment including bullying.

If, as a result of a disability, you believe that there are aspects of the recruitment process or job that you would find more difficult, please contact a member of HR Team as soon as possible. We will then be able to discuss with you any reasonable adjustments that could be made to the recruitment process or the job itself. Any equality data provided by you will be used to monitor our diversity policies and practices.
