The Legal Solutions centre is home to our dedicated Paralegal Team, and they are now on the lookout for a Managing Paralegal in their Corporate and Commercial Support team, Plymouth. This team specialise, predominately, in contract formation and negotiation work, but there are also opportunities for the team to get involved with the wider projects within the Legal Solution Centre. The successful applicant would lead the work on a range of matters including dealing with the allocation and progression of basic contract work, assisting with more bespoke matters alongside the instructing solicitor, and project manager, and ensuring incoming tasks and queries in this respect are dealt with in a prompt manner across several client inboxes.

So what are we looking for?

The role requires an experienced Paralegal able to demonstrate the ability to work efficiently and to deadlines but we fully understand that you may not have experience of the types of projects we work on in Corporate & Commercial. We need someone keen to learn the ins and outs of the team in order to provide an informed and skilled support service to our teams of specialist lawyers across our offices. A key part of the role will also include managing a team and providing training and guidance to new team members.

We will support you in carrying out the following responsibilities:

* Providing training and support to the junior members of the team

* Managing workflows

* Supervising outgoing documents and correspondence

* Conducting file reviews

* Conducting 1:1 reviews, appraisals and providing support to the team

* Assisting with the recruitment process

* Some financial management

* Managing team holidays and other absences

* Managing key client relationships

* Proposing and implementing new working practices to streamline efficiency

* Managing large scale projects

* Business Development
