The department

Our team of business services staff play a significant role in the success of Dentons, and we recruit staff into a wide variety of areas. Here, we look for focused, flexible individuals from a variety of backgrounds who are team players. Previous experience within the legal sector is not essential. We want to give everyone the opportunity to develop his or her potential fully and, therefore, provide support, training and encouragement to members of staff at all levels.

Purpose of role

To support the provision of professional reward & benefits solutions for the UK-ME offices focusing on the implementation of reward initiatives and projects aligned to the strategic objectives of the firm.



* Provide support and direction to the firm in maintaining and developing a market competitive benefits offering

* Delivery of benefits via the flexible benefits system ensuring excellence in communicating those benefits to drive up participation and engagement

* Manage the service provided by third party suppliers of benefits and rewards related policies and products

* Maintain an awareness of up to date market information on current and future reward & benefit developments including those arising as a result of legislative changes


* Work with the Head of Reward & Systems and HR Business Partnering team to review/implement reward programmes, policies and processes

* Utilise a variety of market intelligence sources to help ensure reward packages are appropriate

* Provide expertise and advice on compensation related issues

* Make recommendations for proposals for changes to compensation

* Assist with the analysis of market data and the planning, delivery and implementation of the annual salary review process for all employees based in the UK

* Conduct benchmarking and market analysis in relation to all UK roles, providing recommendations for change where necessary

* Contribute to the overall reward strategy of the firm


* Manage the administration of pension processes including ensuring the firm meets its Auto Enrolment obligations

* Manage the relationship between the firm and its pensions advisors ensuring clear communication and compliance with regulatory requirements

* Member of the pension governance committee

Projects and other

* Participate and where appropriate lead on reward related projects as required

* Provide support to the Dentons Global Mobility programme

* Provide advise and guidance on compensation packages and health and risk policies

* Leverage the relationship with our health and risk providers to support the Dentons Health and Wellbeing Strategy

Required experience, skills and attributes

Skills and experience

* Graduate calibre or equivalent

* Previous experience in a reward or benefits role

* Proven technical understanding of health and risk benefits

* Practical understanding of benchmarking methodologies, preferably Willis Towers Watson

* Strong data manipulation skills, able to present data in a clear and concise method

* Highly developed communication and organisation skills

Personal attributes

* Capable of thinking strategically and providing pragmatic and commercial advice

* Proven influencing and negotiating skills

* Proven project management skills

* Resilient, flexible and adaptable

* Previous experience of working in a professional services firm is desirable

* Good stakeholder manager

* Ability to maintain focus on longer term objectives

* Team Player

Language capabilities

We are a truly global law firm and as such, always welcome hearing from those with foreign language capabilities. In light of our recent combination, Mandarin language fluency would be particularly advantageous given that China is now core to our strategy.
