Locum Criminal Litigation Lawyer – 3 Months + – up to £55 per hour Umbrella – Predominantly Remote Working – East Anglia

Venn Group’s specialist legal team are pleased to be recruiting for a Locum Criminal Litigation Lawyer to join an excellent Public Sector Organisation in the East Anglia.

This assignment will be for an initial period of 3 months subject to likely possible extension thereafter. The ideal candidate would work full-time on a predominately remote working basis however occasional office and court attendance would be preferred. Candidates that have the relevant experience but can only work on a part-time basis may also be considered and still encouraged to apply.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working within Local Government and sufficient experience holding Criminal Litigation caseload which includes matters in relation to Licensing Law. This position will suit candidates that have previous experience of conducting their own advocacy as attending court hearings will be required. Attendance at Licensing Committee’s may also be required on occasion.

Duties may include:
• Managing a mixed caseload of matters to include Licensing, fly tipping, littering, PSPO, planning enforcement and traveller encampments
• Attending Licensing hearings/Committees when required
• Handling a mixture of Local Authority Prosecution and Criminal Litigation matters, including attending and advising decision-making bodies of the Council as required

An attractive hourly rate of up to £55 per hour Umbrella is offered for this position dependant on experience.
