Locum Commercial Property Lawyer – South East of England – 3 months – Full Time – Remote Working – Up to £60 per hour Umbrella

Venn Group are working with a friendly and reputable Local Authority based in the South East of England who are looking for an experienced Locum Commercial Property Lawyer to join their team on a 3 month initial contract that will likely be extended thereafter.

Position: Locum Commercial Property Lawyer

Organisation: Local Authority based in the South East of England

Duration: 3 months initial contract with the likelihood of extended thereafter

Working Arrangement: Full time however part time applicants will be considered, and the role is to be conducted on an entirely remote working basis however if occasional office attendance is possible then this would be encouraged

Hourly Rate: Up to £60 per hour Umbrella, however this hourly rate is subject to Local Government and commercial property legal experience

Job Requirements:

To assist a specialist legal property team providing advice, representation and undertaking research in relation the commercial property legal matters.

In order to properly fulfil the duties of this role, the Authority requires a Qualified Lawyer, either a Solicitor, Barrister or experienced CILEX professional.

Main Responsibilities:

• To independently handling a commercial property caseload, advising on a range of matters including leases, licences, landlord and tenant matters as well as drafting a range of agreements such as deeds of variations and easements
• To contribute to the development of the commercial property team, managing the current property portfolio as well as identifying new freehold and leasehold properties to add to the portfolio
• To represent the Council’s clients and to negotiate with third parties on any commercial property matters
• To support the legal department primarily on land and property matters as well as other legal related matters as and when required 
• To build relationships with client departments, providing both general and complex advice
