Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer – East of England – Remote Working – Full Time – Up to £55 per hour Umbrella

Venn Group’s specialist Legal Team are currently recruiting for a Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join a respectable Local Authority based in the East of England.

The role is for an initial duration of 3 months with the strong likelihood of extension thereafter. The assignment is on a predominantly remote working basis, however occasional office presence will be required to attend meetings. This is a full time role however candidates offering 4 days per week availability may also be considered.

This assignment is for an hourly rate of up to £55 per hour Umbrella, this is dependent upon the individual’s relevant experience. 

The successful candidate for this assignment will be acting as the sole Commercial Contracts Lawyer for this smaller Authority therefore the ideal candidate will have experience managing a commercial contracts caseload without supervision and will have experience handling contractual projects.

The duties for this role may include:

-        Handling a varied caseload including Sizewell projects, Coastal Protection projects and working with Trading Companies

-        Undertaking a wide range of legal work including drafting legal documents and drafting and negotiating agreements and settlements

-        Providing legal advice on contractual matters on behalf of the Local Authority to their clients and acting without supervision

-        Drafting contract clauses and negotiating with third parties as and when required

-        Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
