Locum Childcare Lawyer (OUTSIDE IR35) – up to £52 per hour – West Midlands – Remote Working

 

Venn Group's specialist legal team are delighted to be recruiting for a Locum Childcare Lawyer (Outside IR35) with a Local Authority based inthe West Midlands.

 

The team are looking for someone to carry out the role for an initial period of 3 months on a remote working basis for the foreseeable future but there may be an expectation for some office working and court appearances once the government advice permits this. Our client is ideally looking for someone to join the team on a full-time basis, however part-time candidates will also be considered.

 

The ideal candidate will be a Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with strong and recent knowledge of Childcare Law gained within Local Government.

 

The successful applicant may be expected to carry out various responsibilities including:

 

  • Dealing with Childcare matters in the pre-proceedings stage of the PLO

  • Providing advice on Childcare duty matters and on any private law matters that involve the Local Authority

  • Generally this position does not involve any court advocacy, though very occasionally this may be required – usually on private matters, Childcare Public Law advice and undertake all aspects of Care Proceedings work

  • Ensuring that decisions made by the client department are lawful and accord with Council policy

  • Maintaining an awareness of all relevant legislation, policy and regulations, investigate and advise on implications of changing legislation, case law and codes of practice and policy and provide briefing notes and training for colleagues and client officers

 

The role is offering an attractive rate of up to £320 per hour (outside IR35) dependent upon experience.
