Litigation Locum - Local Authority - South West

Chadwick Nott has recently received new instruction from a large local authority in the South West. The authority has an immediate requirement for a Locum Litigation Lawyer to join their team for at least three months, then ongoing. The role is available on a full-time basis with the possibility of working remotely 1-2 days per week after an initial settling in period.

The ideal candidate will be a Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with previous civil litigation experience within local government and the ability to carry out court advocacy. Experienced Lawyers, who are qualified by experience, will also be considered.

Duties will include:

  • Conducting and assisting with general civil litigation and prosecutions cases
  • Managing own caseload, including gathering evidence, preparing files and documents
  • Attending court hearings and providing trial advocacy
  • Provide support for committee hearings
  • Advise on a wide range of legal matters including housing possessions, ASBI, ASBO applications and debt recovery

A competitive hourly rate of £30-40 per hour is offered to the successful candidate dependent on experience.
