Licensed Conveyancer

Davies and Partners is a well-established law firm with over 30 years’ experience. Position: Licensed Conveyancer
Location: Bristol
Job type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

About the role:

This role reports to the Legal Director and Head of Private Client Residential. You will handle a mixed residential caseload from initial instruction through to post completion whilst maintaining client care to the highest standard.

Responsibilities:

- To effectively deal with a manageable and varied caseload in residential conveyancing.
- To maintain and build upon exiting client relationships.
- To supervise the team in the absence of the Legal Director.
- To work to strict deadlines in a pressurised but friendly environment.
- To liaise with support staff (i.e. Legal Secretaries, Paralegals and Trainee Paralegals) in a positive and proactive manner.
- To maintain accurate electronic and paper-based records for clients.
- To act as a positive ambassador for Davies and Partners Solicitors.
- To undertake appropriate and relevant staff development on a regular basis.

About you:

- Solicitor or FCILEx qualified.
- CLC registered.
- 2 years+ PQE.
- Possess a detailed understanding of Property Law.
- Ability to maintain and build upon existing client relationships.
- The ability to take on a supervisory role in the absence of the Legal Director, and to be able to mentor / assist others in the team.

As part of our compliance procedures, applicants are asked to note that:

- All gaps in CVs must be explained satisfactorily.
- Proof of identity and (where applicable) qualifications will be required.
- Reference requests will ask specifically whether the applicant has ever been subject to any proceedings / complaints initiated by the Law Society or any other professional body.
- Appropriate suitability checks may be required prior to confirmation of appointment.

This role meets the requirements in respect of exempted questions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. This role will require applicants who are offered employment to be subject to a criminal record check from the Disclosure and Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed. This will include details of cautions, reprimands or final warnings as well as convictions.
