We are looking for a number of customer focused individuals to join our Legal Services Contact Team to be based in our Cardiff office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to gain legal industry experience.

The team's role is to be the first point of contact for our new clients to establish their needs in relation to their claim or query and inform them of legal processes.

We have full-time and part-time positions available. We are also looking for individuals to work weekends (Saturdays 9am-4pm and Sunday 10am-4pm). Further details to be discussed in interviews.


Your initial responsibilities will include contacting newly referred clients in a timely efficient manner and also triaging helpline calls by obtaining initial details on the client’s query. You will be providing great client service by contacting new clients as soon as possible and gathering information required to assess their claim and assisting with their immediate needs.

You will quickly progress to completing administration tasks, including opening newly referred files and also preparing the case for the initial part of the relevant legal process in readiness to be passed to case handlers.

The role will then progress to additional responsibilities including training newer members of staff. There are also opportunities for the experienced members of staff to join the MOJ Response Team to extend their responsibilities to be dealing with further stages of clients’ cases.

The role extends to a number of legal disciplines including personal injury, civil litigation and legal helpline.

Skills/Competencies required: 

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and people skills, be diplomatic and empathetic. You will also be organised and able to prioritise; be able to work to targets and cope well under pressure. An excellent telephone manner is essential.

Ideally you should be IT literate however; full legal and system training will be provided.

We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated and flexible individuals with a positive approach to customer service.

You will need to have good spelling and good grammar and be able to take down accurate information as this is paramount to the role.
