Legal Secretary Role Description

We are looking for a Legal Secretary to join our award-winning Real Estates Litigation Team in our prestigious Birmingham office. The role is to provide secretarial and administrative support for Partners and other Legal Advisers in the team, with a split of approximately 30% typing and 70% administration. The Legal Secretary role is crucial to the smooth running of the team and to improve the excellent service our team is now expected to provide to our top clients.

The ideal candidate should be a team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to cope with change and work under pressure as the team deals with a high volume of work on a daily basis. The role will involve some client contact and additional support may be required on project completions as well, so the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with clients is also highly desirable. Ideally you will also have previous experience gained within a legal environment or other professional organisations. A minimum standard of 65 wpm typing speed for copy and audio is expected along with comprehensive experience with Word.

You will be able to use your initiative and anticipate what is needed by taking appropriate action as required whilst also demonstrating confidence in your own ability. As a highly-motivated individual you will produce accurate work, be able to work under pressure and have a positive approach and contribution to this acclaimed team.

About the Company

Our firm is consistently ranked in the top 3 in the UK for Real Estate and we are leading advisors to FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 companies for Real Estate. We work with high profile clients and on large commercial property transactions. Our support staff are held in high regard at our firm and this role is important to the successful running of the divisions. We don't just want people who are great at admin, we want flexible, committed individuals who can think on their feet, work well with our clients and who are known for getting things done.
