We are seeking an experienced Legal Secretary in our Employment team in the Exeter office. This is a full time permanent position, working 9.00am to 5.15pm Monday to Friday.

The firm currently has 300 employees across its offices in Exeter, St Austell and Truro.

The Role:

You will be working as a Legal Secretary for a number of different lawyers dealing primarily with Employment and HR matters. You will need to have a flexible approach and the ability to work within a hard-working and buzzing team environment. With a typing speed of at least 65wpm, you will be required to provide a high quality secretarial and administrative service to the Team. You must be able to produce a high volume of accurate typing by means of digital dictation and other means, and you will also be responsible for diary management, as well as general secretarial duties.

Are you the right person?

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a focus on exceptional client care. You will have solid legal secretarial experience and be used to working in a busy and highly professional driven environment, including digital dictation, copy typing and filing. The position would suit someone who is highly organised, motivated, accurate, proactive and committed to meeting deadlines while remaining calm under pressure. Attention to detail is essential. Excellent all round communication skills and a professional and helpful telephone manner, commercial awareness and common sense are essential as you will often be the first point of client contact and for telephone enquiries from potential new clients. We enjoy our work and laugh every day, so a good sense of humour is necessary. Previous experience of working in a business focused team within a law firm is an advantage.
