Developers and Investors
If you're looking to kick start your career in a Top 20 commercial law firm we may well have your next opportunity?
We're looking for a Legal Executive to join the team in Southampton. You'll be working in a team who specialise in real estate investment and development work. They act for clients on the acquisition, development, management and disposal of their direct real estate assets. The team also acts on multi-party development agreements, helping investors, landowners and developers alike to manage their risk within the land development process.
Our Real Estate team has a key role to play in delivering on our national sector strategy. That's why we now have more than two hundred lawyers across our nationally respected teams in the UK, with over fifteen listed as leaders in their field. Technical excellence is no longer enough, so we've worked hard to ensure that we combine that with a genuine understanding of our clients and their businesses which allows all our lawyers to add real commercial value.
What will you be doing?
We're increasingly recruiting Legal Executives to work as part of our teams of lawyers. At the same time as allowing us to deliver exactly what our clients want, it also gives you some fantastic experience in developing your legal career.
The successful candidate will be assisting lawyers on transactions and running their own caseload of suitable matters. There a lot to learn but don't worry you'll be guided by the rest of the team.
So what does the ideal candidate look like?
The team are extremely busy so you'll need to be able to pick things up quickly. Ideally you'll have some previous experience from a commercial environment and a genuine passion for this area of law, be invested in your own personal development and committed to working towards a CILEx qualification. Just as important as academics are your ability to build and maintain strong relationships, be highly organised, efficient and able to prioritise and work independently.
You'll have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, strong drafting skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines whilst under pressure. You'll be great at forging strong relationships not just externally but internally as well. Plus any experience you hold in Landlord and Tenant law will give your application a distinct advantage.
Excellent IT capabilities are also a must.
