The Finance department is responsible for ensuring proper systems are in place for time recording, billing, client accounting, purchase ledger, payroll and cash management so that accurate and reliable information can be produced.
The purpose of this role is to support the day to day running of the Finance function of the London office. The core responsibilities are billing and cashiering.
Full participation in the day to day activities of the Cashiers team
Posting receipts and payments on client account.
Helping to ensure fee earners and other support staff comply with the firm's internal cashiering regulations and SAR
Loading client payments onto the banking system.
Perform month and year end procedures and reconciliations
Reconciling Counsel Fee notes and arrange approval for payment.
Posting of third party disbursements onto ledgers.
Dealing with internal and external queries
Liaising with auditors and banks
Supporting other Finance team members across UK offices as required.
Calculating and processing bills, time and disbursement transfers and nil bills.Checking and posting bills.
Dealing with billing and time recording queries.
Charge out rate maintenance
Ability to prioritise work effectively and meet deadlines

Cashiering experience (essential)

Good knowledge of the Solicitors' Accounts Rules (SAR) (essential)
