SALARY: £25,813pa (£43,023 FTE)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Caseworker (Employment Law) to join a Trade Union based in the West Midlands to cover maternity leave for up to 12 months. Working as part of a team, you will undertake casework up to, and including, employment tribunals, liaise with solicitors and ensure that the Union effectively applies all relevant legislation to its activities. As the successful Legal Caseworker, you will provide advice, support and guidance to professionals across the full range of legal services, including employment and trade union law, industrial disputes, professional regulatory work, teachers' contracts and legal challenges to government policy.
As a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, Legal Executive or experienced Caseworker or Paralegal you will have a minimum of two years employment law experience specifically working for a Trade Union. You will be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of employment law, and experience in providing related legal advice and guidance on behalf of workers is essential. You will also provide training and undertake policy work and represent the union at external meetings and events.
