Legal Assistant - Private Client - Redditch

We are looking for an experienced legal assistant to join our Private Client team based at our office in Redditch.

To be successful you will have a strong secretarial and administration background. In addition, you will be a well organised self-starter who is able to work independently to ensure that tasks are completed to a high standard. Confidence in dealing with clients in a professional manner, both on the telephone and in person, is essential.

Key tasks include:

1. Maintain Fee Earner’s diary to include arranging meetings and appointments.
2. Deal with routine client correspondence, queries and accurate audio typing.
3. Opening, closing and ongoing orderly maintenance of all files in accordance with firm’s quality standards and Lexcel compliance.
4. Responsible for the organisation, safe custodian and release of Wills, Lasting Power of Attorney’s, Probates and other associated legal documents.
5. Attend to clients both in person and on the telephone in a manner in keeping with the firm’s high standard of client care.
6. Create and maintain client records on the firm’s database ensuring that all correspondence and file notes are recorded on the system, in accordance with HCB’s and Lexcel’s requirements.
7. Ability to liaise with other departments and offices across HCB Network.
8. Produce client correspondence and enclosures for mailing including client bills.
9. Ensure the confidentiality of the client and firm’s information and documentation at all times.
10. Maintain client hard copy files including copying, storage and retrieval of information.
11. Request payments and record receipts of client monies.
12. Other duties as required to ensure the efficient running of the office.

Hours: Mon – Fri 09.00 – 17.15
Holiday: 25 days plus Bank Holidays
Salary: Dependent on experience
