About the team
We are a member of the PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) international network of firms. The Legal network in the UK consists of 42 Partners and Directors and a 350 strong team. As well as project-based, specialist legal advice, we offer our clients ongoing general counsel support. We are part of the largest global network of lawyers and have access to legal expertise in over 86 countries.
The Corporate team focuses on corporate and business structuring projects ranging from significant multi-territory reorganisation projects to smaller intra-group reorganisations, as well as management advisory and incentive projects, start up investment advice and other company law services.
Our clients include numerous household names, multinational corporations and listed groups as well as privately owned companies, inbound groups and high net worth individuals. Our teams often work with tax, corporate finance, deals, advisory and other professionals from within PwC international network to deliver a joined up service to our clients.
About the role
Like the rest of our team, we expect the person in this role will enjoy an interesting and challenging workload. We work on a wide range of projects across the specialisms covered by our group; most of our projects involve understanding and applying technical areas of law in detail. A large proportion of our work is carried out alongside non-lawyers in PwC such as tax and deals advisers. Not only does this give us access to projects that other law firms don't see, but it has helped our lawyers develop a deeper understanding of business issues and the commercial context for our advice. Unquestionably, PwC is one of the best known businesses in the world; the PwC brand attracts top tier businesses and many of our clients are household names.
Our Midlands Corporate team consists of a director and four fee earners. Given the breadth of our work and geographical reach, as well as the Midlands team, you will be working with our lawyers across the UK. This role will also provide you with an excellent opportunity to grow our legal practice and you will play a central role in developing our business in the Midlands.
Each member of the team is encouraged to develop relationships with clients and with the professionals in PwC with whom we work on a daily basis. You will be expected to run certain matters under the supervision of one of our senior solicitors and to work closely alongside the other fee earners in the team. Organisational skills and the ability to take on significant levels of responsibility on transactions will therefore be key attributes. A desire to network and build relationships within PwC and with clients is also important.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and keen to embrace the challenge of turning their hand to many different types of corporate work rather than doing similar deals time and time again. The nature of working so closely alongside professionals in PwC's various teams across the Midlands region, as well as worldwide, leads to an incredibly diverse range of work that the team is asked to assist with.

The skills we look for in future employees
All our people need to demonstrate the skills and behaviours that support us in delivering our business strategy. This is important to the work we do for our business, and our clients. These skills and behaviours make up our global leadership framework, ‘The PwC Professional’ and are made up of five core attributes; whole leadership, technical capabilities, business acumen, global acumen and relationships.
