JOB TITLE IT Support Analyst

Based in Aberdeen REPORTING TO Service Delivery Manager JOB PURPOSE
The IT Support Analyst’s main responsibility is as part of a busy team providing first level technical
support to the firm via the IT Helpdesk. The successful candidate will work as part of a busy team of IT
Professionals answering IT-related support queries. Our Helpdesk team are given the skills,
responsibility and time to try to resolve the majority of calls they receive themselves, with colleagues in
other teams available for escalation. The IT Support Analyst role offers a wide range of exposure to
business technologies and will require flexibility depending on the department’s workload. We require a
responsible and dedicated individual who can work well both independently and as part of a team.

The Support Analyst role reports to the Service Delivery Manager as part of the Service Delivery Team.
The role is based in Aberdeen with occasional travel to Glasgow or Edinburgh as required. This is a 37.5
hour working week with shifts undertaken between the hours of 8.30am and 6.00pm. There is an
opportunity for the IT Support Analyst to take part in the weekend on-call rota for which an additional
financial remuneration is offered. CORE TASKS

• Answering Helpdesk calls and emails in a timely fashion and providing first line technical support
• PC Troubleshooting via telephone and remote control of the user’s computer or at their desk
• Support of remote workers using VPN, portal and web-based access



• Assisting with setting up new users on the various systems
• Installation of software and application of patches and desktop and mobile hardware
• Setting up and supporting audio visual equipment in client-facing areas
• General system administration
• Assisting Service Delivery Manager and the rest of the team as required
• Keeping technical and systems knowledge up to date
• Problem reporting and escalation internally as appropriate
• Assisting the wider IT Team with the implementation and support of new software and hardware
• Be aware of Brodies’ information security policies, and protect information assets from unauthorised
access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference at all times PERSON SPECIFICATION
• Excellent communication skills and confidence in dealing with people at all levels.

• Must be organised and able to prioritise own workload
• Enthusiastic, responsible and accountable
• Professional attitude to work and manner
• Good timekeeping and attendance
• Ability to work well both unsupervised and as a member of a team
SKILLS

• General IT knowledge of basic networking, hardware and software
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows 0 and Office 209/365
• Basic knowledge of PC and printing hardware
• Experience of IT Helpdesk support
• Experience of working in a law or other professional services firm is desirable but not essential
