IT has an important role to play within our business and we have invested heavily in our IT infrastructure. We recognise the value that IT systems contribute to our success and to ensuring we deliver excellence in everything we do.

The successful applicant will play a key part in developing and supporting our core business applications, which include Legal Case Management systems, Reporting Services, Web Services and Web Applications.

We are about to undertake an exciting project to rebuild one of our core case management workflows. This is a major project primarily utilising SQL and a web oriented skillset, so will particularly suit someone with a good understanding of web technology who also has strong system design skills and a logical approach to applying technology to business processes.

You must be fully proficient in the core technologies we use specifically Microsoft technologies such as SQL, VB.Net and/or C# ASP.NET.

You should also have proven experience of handling large and complex volumes of data from a variety of sources and of creating and implementing effective testing plans.

Proven knowledge and previous experience of SQL Server and database development experience using SSIS, SSRS, ASP.NET and VB.NET as well as of .NET Web development utilising e.g. Visual Studio is also essential.

You will need proven T-SQL skills, be able to design data structures, develop stored procedures, functions and views and have established reporting skills using SQL Reporting Services or similar such as Crystal Reports.

In addition to the technical skills outlined above, you should be a team player, who is able to build a strong rapport with others, providing a friendly and helpful service to colleagues. You should be a confident and effective communicator, with the ability to accurately identify technical problems and to explain concepts, solutions etc. in an appropriate way, adjusting your style as appropriate.

Finally, you should be committed to delivering excellence, with an accurate and methodical approach to your work, ensuring that processes, procedures etc. are followed correctly and have the ability to plan, schedule and priorities your own workload effectively.
